AN EXCITING NEW VENTURE...

I have a very talented friend, the Fantastic Mrs Fox and if you've been waiting to meet her from this post, here she is...

Among her very many various talents she paints, sings, makes quilts, teaches and takes amazing photo's...

So... Mrs Fox and I have talked for a while about setting up our photography business.  Photography is something we both have a passion and an eye for... we've both done lots of pro-bono work for family and friends, and we're keen to keep doing that but in addition we wanted to branch out a little bit more, get pro-active and turn our passion into a business...

why not get paid for something we LOVE?

So first thing's first...
  1. Agree on an awesome name... Check!
  2. Set up a place where we can be found... Check
  3. Show off our previous work... Check!
  4. Get our name out there... Facebook, twitter, Blogs, word of mouth... Check!
  5. Offer really competitive prices... Check!
  6. Book some jobs... lots of tentative Checks! hehe!
  7. Work! Work! Work!
  8. Have Fun, Fun, Fun!!!
So... all systems are GO!!!  And this is your personal VIP invitation to come over and visit us at our new little corner of the world wide web, we think you will like it...

We have samples of our work over there and I'll let you know whenever we add more....

I hope you've had a wonderful week, I've certainly had a fun and productive one...

My Ganama's dress...

I love this dress.

It was ANZAC day on Wednesday and I thought I would wear this dress to work on Thursday because I felt... hmmm I suppose I felt sentimental...  I'm really grateful for the men who went off to war to fight for our country, to keep their grandchildren free from bondage and incarceration.  What a beautiful country we live in and I'm very glad that I have the freedom of speech, might and mind, that I'm able to share it with you...  I love New Zealand.

Today I'm truly inspired...

Yesterday I met Founder and Creative Director of The Carpenters Daughter, Caroline Marr, when I went to check out the TCD pop up shop.

I tried a couple of things on... oh'd and ah'd more than a few times... as I came out of the dressing room wearing the black Nautical Dress I bumped right into her.  It was like I have known her for ages... and boy!  Is she trendy or what?!?! Yes she is!

Anyway today I ended up going back and buying said dress... and had a good little chat with Caroline, I found out the following...

  • she's a family girl, in fact working with her in the pop up shop was her sister in law Tracey, how cool is that!?!
  • She's super trendy... of course this is a given being the head of a lead fashion house.
  • She's got the most fabulous personality, I enjoyed my little 15 minutes with her and she was very supportive about my blog.
  • She has the most brilliant smile!
TCD was established in 1990 and I remember driving past the Takapuna store in 1999 and thinking "hmmm that looks like a funky shop".  Now it has grown so much!  Including an online store. Also having the store here in Masterton was so fab and further proof of TCD's awesome growth, growth that has obviously stemmed from plenty of hard work and determination...

Tomorrow they head to Wanganui, if you're up that way go and check them out and have a chat...

You know a few years ago, my mother in law asked me what I really wanted to do... I think I was having career issues at the time... anyway I said "I want to be the Trelise Cooper for the big girls" I laugh when I think about it now... but today I realise that "I want to be the Mrs C for me".

The Carpenter's Daughter has reiterated to me that I can be whatever I want to be... and thanks to her I am heading to bed tonight a truly inspired woman.  I hope I've passed some of it on to you too...

Green with envy...

This must be the first time that my laptop has suffered withdrawls from me and not the other way around... I haven't touched the poor thing since I posted Super Sunday... You see, Blogging helps me to relax; but these holidays I just haven't needed any help to relax... isn't that wonderful?  Yes it is!

I'll post some of my fav holiday picts tomorrow... but for now let me introduce you to the latest edition of my curvy wardrobe...

Yesterday, we stopped at the Savemart in Upper Hutt and even though this is not exactly what I call a bargain at $20.99 I did think it was a bit steep, but, it was pay week yay!  and I just could'nt pass up on the colour... or the fact that it looked brand new... so I had to snap it up because it's just so beautiful... do you agree?

I'm so excited that The Carpenters Daughter is coming to town next week!

Yay!  I'm looking forward to going along and checking it out.  I know exactly which dress I want so fingers crossed... if you live in Wairarapa check out this link out for more information about TCD and who knows, we may just bump into one
another at the roadshow...
Have a lovely weekend

Editing on an iPhone4s...

It's no secret that I love my iPhone4s, I even gave her a name 'Ifie'.  One of the things that make me swoon over 'Ifie' is the ability to edit and manipulate the photos taken from her stunning camera...
If you have an iPhone4s and you do NOT have "Pictureshow"  Get it! Now!  Seriously, you will love it!  Out of the 4 editing apps I have downloaded this one is by far my favourite... photos edited on Pictureshow come out so funky and a little bit grungy.
These picts were taken by my 14 year old son and edited by me on "Pictureshow."

I love this quad option, it just randomly choose parts of your pict and splits it...
quad styles...

This is a pretty general holga-ish type, I like the grain running through it...

You can choose 'light leaks' I love this spotty option...

I love the dirty, kind of street look in this one...

This is the door of the Colosseum, the first place any of my photos were
on display... with the exception of my passageway...

This is almost a lady of the night look... although there is definite GRIT here...

This is fun! the mirror'd option turned my double head into heart shaped
funky sort of circus freak...

The spotty light leaks again...

This is a fuzzy spot focus option...

And this is my favourite, dirty, grungy, funky and interesting...

So I hope you download this app and I hope you use it and love it as much as I do... have fun...
